Central City Court House

Image was taken in about 1972 using a Leicaflex SL and a 50mm lens.
The film was Panatomic-X; the negative was scanned and the digital file processed in Photoshop. ;)

Makes a nice B&W portrait.

Hopefully this courthouse isn't still in use. It definitely appears to have seen better days. That sidewalk looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen and the use of plumbing pipe for handrails doesn't look like it would meet present day building code.

I really like this Larry! Thanks for digging this one up out of the archives! The B&W looks great in this, and the details that Alan pointed out all help add to the historic feel of this.

Thanks Alan for your comments very much appreciated! Since the rise in casinos in Central City a lot of the historic buildings modified or torn down to make gambling places in their place. The old opera house, an old church and the court house were still standing the last time I was there a couple of years ago.

Thanks Jim I have some nice old shots from Central City and Blackhawk, I may put some of those together when I get in the mood to scan again! ;)
