Chilean Puma

Switching from landscape mode to wildlife mode quickly is not a formula for success. Recently, while in Patagonia, we encountered a pair of Puma and I had my medium format camera in hand, with lousy tracking and dicey autofocus. Took me over a month after my return to get the courage to look at these. Maybe I pulled one off.

That is quite the switch going from Landscape to Wildlife. Not just from a gear standpoint but from a frame of mind too.

I would say you pulled it off! What was the landscape you were capturing when you came across the Puma? Were you at a safe distance?

Stunning! I hope to do Patagonia someday. I was thinking Argentina, but Chili looks good too.
