Chill Trillium

This Western White Trillium (Trillium ovatum var.ovatum) can be seen in most of the places I like to go hiking in the Columbia River Gorge. For this shot, I had to lie down on the trail and use a macro lens. I promise you my next new camera will have a fully articulating monitor, to save both my knees and my dignity.

Neat light for this little bloom - I like the backlit moss in the foreground. My current camera is the first one I have had with an articulating screen - very helpful for old knees.

Thanks Alan. I had a Canon point and shoot way back in the early 2000s and thought it's Vari-angle monitor was the best thing ever. I can't believe it took the DSLR and Mirrorless designers so long to get it!

This is really sweet Michael. I like how the OOF fern branches mimic the Trillium leaves. Well worth a bit of laying down on the job. :)

Thanks Jim. I was wondering if anyone else would see that! Shot at eye level, it wouldn't work so well.
