Colorado Aspen

We spent 3 days in Avon, CO this week to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. It rained off and on the whole time we were there, so we stayed in the hotel most of the 3 days we were there. The sun broke through the clouds on our way home and I grabbed a few shots. Not the best images, but we have to take what 'Mother Nature' gives us. We had a great time and nice meals in Avon!

I like the layers in the first one. The second works too with that colorful tree centered between the converging hills.

Because of the dry conditions this year the aspen is some areas are already gone! ;(

Hi Jim thanks for your comments, appreciated as always! The aspen should still be good next weekend, in the areas between Leadville and I70 in the lower elevations. We saw lots of great aspen stands along the route that had lots of green still. It was raining too hard to get any shots down that stretch of road, but we were treated to lots of eye candy! The area on the north side of Tennessee Pass was really good!
