Colorado Mountain Goat

Taken several years ago when a group of mountain goats stopped a rocky meadow near the top of the road to Mt Evans. They were mostly grazing in the green plants and had thier heds down most of the time, This fellow stopped grazing and posed a few minutes and let me get several shots before he started to graze again! You can see he still had about 1/3 of his winter coat still in place, I expect he would be sheading the rest in a few days! ;)

Awesome Larry! I do recall there being lot's of mountain goats up there.

And this is a great reminder, I am going to go up there sometime in the next week. It's been so long since I have been there. The problem is the weather, after months of no rain, it seems like it's doing nothing but rain in Colorado for the next week or so.

Hi Jim, yes this time of year there are usually a number of goats and big horn sheep up in that area. ;)

I heard the Mt Blue Sky road is open and pretty good up the summit lake and fairly rough from there to the summit. I also heard that they are charging a $22 entrance fee. When I was up there a few years ago and it was called the Mt Evans road, the fee was $8. inflation everywhere!!! :(
