Colourless Dawn

Looks rather chilly with the ice along the edges of the water in the second image. They are both good images but the second one really stands out for my eyes.

Lovely set Ken. Like them both.

I can see several sub compositions out of the second image with close up of the trees and their reflections.

What super cool conditions! That’s a great day to forget about Covid-19 indeed. I like both of these a lot, but #2 also stands out to me. I like how it’s framed with ice along the bottom.

I agree w/Ben & Jim. The second image has it! I also think that there are a few other comps in this one

Thanks everyone. I did manage to take 83 images while standing beside the lake. The ice is actually in the middle of the lake which is just over 1/2 mile wide at this point.

The 2 images posted were taken at approx 200mm but many of the others were taken at 400mm as I tried to capture portraits of individual trees. Overall view just as the sun broke through completely and sent the dynamic range through the roof. Taken at 32mm to give an overall view. I will set up a Gallery ( Bassenthwaite Dawn) and pop images in when I process them. Ken
