Corfe Castle built in the 10thC and detroyed in the English Civil war mid 17thC sits a few miles from the English South coast. Images from 2012 when we were visiting our elder daughter who was at University nearby.

Processed in 2012 and produces a nice 16 by 12 print from the Olympus E410 10Mp 4/3 sensor

Processed for the first time this week. I don't think that my normal processing has changed much in 13 years. What has changed is the crop that looks natural to me. Ken

They did a pretty thorough job of destroying the structure. I like the 2:3 crop and the slightly different point of view in the second version.

I prefer the 2nd one as well Alan. I used to think that I needed foreground interest even if: 1 it wasn't intrresting, 2 it led to a busier less focused image. Ken

Good images to showcase why a foreground isn't needed sometimes. #2 definitely causes the eye to go to the castle.
