Hi Alan; this image does not show the whole tree the blue heron build large nest in the bigger lower branches and the cormorants populate the smaller upper. I thought I captured the whole tree in a few images, but I can not find the files.Do they reuse each other's nests or was it a complete rebuild depending on which species lays claim to the tree? Neat tree for your photo pleasures in either case.
Thanks for the comments Kevin, very much appreciated!Good shot Larry, nice looking tree but they are really messy birds.
Thanks for the comments Jim. There is a tree in Denver City Park called the bird tree that hosts several nests for snowy egrets and cormorants, and an occasional night heron. Over a few years the cormorants take over most of the best nesting sites and move out the egrets. That's a great image Larry! And it's so interesting there are so many in 1 tree.
Thanks Douglas for the comment, it seems you were very impressed!!WOW!!
