Couple of Woodland Birds

On the same walk that I spotted the red squirrel, I also managed to capture a Jay and Great Woodpecker (I think). Still quite unusual in Ireland as was not present really from the 1920s after becoming extinct. Taken with ef100-400 and r7 with adaptor.

I’m pretty much starting out with bird photography and so far only seem to find pidgeons Seeing pics like this inspire me to keep looking!

What a productive walk Graeme! The only Jays I have seen are Blue, so it's odd seeing them this color. And a woodpecker!!! I have always loved those.
