Crab Apple Blossoms

A large crab apple tree in my back yard. The wet snow last week did not kill most of the blossoms.

Do you eat those apples? I remember eating crab apples as a kid growing up in Minnesota.

It's funny.... I don't recall ever seeing crab apples in the grocery store.

We also have a green apple tree in the yard that has white blossoms, they are high on the tree and had to photograph. The squirrels get most of the apples before they are ready to pick. Crab apples are small and quite sour, however some people make jelly from them.

As a kid, maybe because we like to make weird faces as kids, the fact that crab apples were sour added to how much we liked them. It would almost be a contest as to who could eat the most sour apples.
