Crack in Canyon X

I like the colors and shapes - especially the canyon walls in the immediate foreground.

Slot canyons that aren't packed with tourists are always going to be a more peaceful photographic experience.

Nicely done. I assume this is an HDR or exposure blend.

I'm heading back down there this spring and will be researching canyons like this, if you have any suggestions please message me.

Very cool image, Kyle!
I haven't been there to call on memory, but the colors feel maybe a touch over-saturated to my eyes. No worries, still a cool shot!

I'm pretty sure it is an exposure blend. I don't have much info about the slots. Overland Canyon Tours used to do a combo with Upper Antelope and Canyon X - and they were the only ones with access to Canyon X. I haven't done any research into options lately.

Thanks Barry - it is looking a little saturated to my eye too. :)

Very cool looking Kyle! I have seen the advertisements for Canyon X for a long time, but never went there. It looks like it might be worth checking out. Were you rushed through there? How much time did you have to isolate areas and shoot.

Canyon X is one of the most convoluted slots I've been in. This shot does look a bit hot to me.
I went way back, in pre-DSLR days. Only 6 of us, plenty of time to shoot, go out in the sun to warm up. We also went to, um, I think it's called Cardiac Canyon, right next door. Like I said, only 6 of us, but 1 person still had to jump in front of other people who were already set up so she could get her shot.

It wasn't a photo tour, so keep that in mind with my response. I never felt rushed at all. Canyon X isn't a straight shot like the Antelopes (hence the "X" in the name). We drove out to the area and wandered in and out of a couple of slots as well as some hiking overland between areas. I was the only one with a tripod (it was a family trip) but the guide pointed me toward some spots (including this one), gave me some ideas, and gave me time to shoot. I also tend to move pretty quick so someone who is more deliberate may in fact have felt rushed.
