I really like this image. The building itself is interesting, but as I kept scrolling down the overall scene just kept getting better. I like the fall colors and reflections.

What a beautiful image! And I like how the reflection is hiding a bit in the shadows. It was a delight to find.

What interesting history as well.

What everyone already said.

I find the sky a distraction as it is the brightest part of the scene. Cropping that out may be worth trying.

very interesting sounding place. great photo, love how you found a place that feels heavily wooded, but you can see through the trees to the house.

I partly agree Jameel. I would have liked more trees above the house but there is no position that allows this. I tried cropping but then the house feels "crowded" as it is right up against the top of the image. I even tried cloning some trees in above the house and this helps slightly but in the end just returned to the original. Ken

Great image, Ken. The house is obviously the star of the shot. I’m wondering if the shadows in the foreground can be lightened a bit so the bridge, reflection, and people walking next to the water are easier to see. But, maybe it’s just my screen.

Strange that you say this, I have just lifted the foreground shadows and darkened the sky but only by a tiny amount. I think shadows should be dark. The first post image was almost straight out of camera. Ken
