While in Denmark I noticed almost everywhere I went there was many Orb Weaver spiders. All of the ones I could identify were Cross Orb Weavers. At one point while standing in the living room of my friends home I counted 8 webs with spiders in the centre waiting for a meal.
This is a stack of about 30 images, showing convincingly why they are called a Cross Orb Weaver.
This is the ventral side of the spider taken through the window. You can see the first joint of each leg where it attaches to the body.
