This is a composite image with one sharp layer and one intentionally out of focus layer (two camera images) overlaid. This technique was a class exercise in a Tony Sweet online composition class I took many years ago. The effect creates a bit of ghosting around the focused layer of the image. The technique actually predates digital photography and was done with two exposures overlaid when printing.
The daffodil was staged with a dark backdrop and sprayed to get the droplets.
C&C always welcome.
