Daisies on Tonka

We have this steep hill down to the lake. When we bought the place a couple of years ago, the view was mostly blocked by buckthorn trees. We've cut them down and trying to manage them out. In the meantime, I keep spreading wildflower seeds to make the hill a bit more attactive. It's a work in progress for sure.

Neat to have a wildflower zone on your hillside. A lot less maintenance than formal garden fixtures to be sure. I like the clouds with the sun rays over the lake as a backdrop.

Thanks Alan. The hill is so steep that regular maintenance is not practical. As it is, there are places I have trouble reaching to knock down the invasive plants but I am making significant progress. To have the hill professionally landscaped would probably be a six figure job . . . something for someone with much deeper pockets than I.

Nice image Bob, thanks for sharing. I like the sharp flowers in the foreground and the deep focus on the clouds. ;)

Question: Was this done with focus blending?

Very nice view with wildflowers in the foreground and light rays coming down from the clouds. Nicely framed.

Thanks Larry. No focus blending on this shot . . . a single image at f/11 I believe.

Bob, this is so cool! Great thinking on how you have transitioned this backyard.

Wild flowers and sun rays... can't get much better then that.
