Great shot Dave! The B&W is perfect. And you got just enough angle on the person. But that thing coming out oh no where in the middle of the sky distracts a lot. I would crop from the top to lose that. Going to a 4:5 or square format. Just removing totally allows the eye to focus on the person.

I thought it was good because it was like apocolyptic , some decrepid thing hanging down , but after cropping it, I realized you are right, its not "Enough" things hanging down to make it work that way, cropping makes it better ! Here !
