I've wished many times that I would have had a better lens at that time for this opportunity. I sold that Nikon 70-300mm VR right after this, being aggravated with it for a couple other reasons also. But, at least I got this shot, and didn't know it had that bonus until I was back home processing images.
Well, I still like the Sigma 150-600mm Sport on a limited basis, but I've found it to be very inconsistent and also long and heavy. When it hits it's great, but my best, most reliable is the Nikon 80-400mm AF-S. I like the Nikon 300mm AF-S also, which is probably the sharpest and most reliable. I know everyone's on the Nikon 200-500mm bandwagon right now, but I don't need that one. Someday I'll sell them all and start over with a Nikon 500mm or 600mm.
