I think you captured this well. That is a dreary and smelly place to be! I have only been there a few times as the smell is just too much for me. I am glad you found a composition there.

I don't think its drab and dull. Its simple, serene, tranquil and beautiful. The water doesn't have a single ripple. Makes me want to go kayaking right through it.
