Dutch e-loc American style

I firmly reject any notion of me being a train geek... Serious though, this was a Dutch-American cooperation (Werkspoor with Baldwin/Westinghouse).

We don't see a lot of fully electric locomotives like this in the western US. Only trolleys in Portland have the overhead lines to run them so it's mostly ones run from diesel generators. Is this an active locomotive or in a museum?

Most NS 1200 series have either been scrapped or relegated to museums. That said, some are back in active (freight) services! Dating end '40's - early 50's, they have quite the career. This one at the time the picture was taken was in a museum (2008).

That's so cool Ad. I sure like the look of those old engines.

I enjoy seeing trains, I don't get to photograph many. I do put up a semi elaborate HO train system every Christmas with several Christmas displays.
