Early Light of the Day

I had high hopes for a glorious sunrise yesterday morning when I grabbed my drone and wandered out to my deck. Nice overhead patchy clouds as I could see it from the ground but once I got my drone up above the rooftops and trees it was clear that my optimism wasn't warranted with extensive clouds on and below the horizon off to the east. It was still kind of an interesting view of Mt. Hood so I grabbed a shot anyway. Still quite a bit if air pollution and low fog with temperatures in the high 20's. Single shot at 168mm.

That's a beauty! Colors complement nicely and lots of interesting textures in the trees.

Thanks Michael - this morning's sunrise edition turned out much better for vivid colors but this one ended up having more interesting textures and overall light.

While not exactly the intense colors, its still a nice image with subtle colors. It's been pretty meh here that it wasn't worth even trying to check the possiblities.

Thanks Jameel - I was thinking it was a bit of a bust when I landed and unloaded the memory card but as I looked this scene over decided it would be worth processing anyway. It turned out better than I expected. This morning we finally got some good color again but I haven't processed any of those yet.
