Early Morning Light on an Early Bloom

There's a hydrangea outside the side door to my garage that just started its bloom yesterday. The bloom starts out as a yellowish green and then changes over to deep blue as it progresses and in this case is just starting to make the change. Its usually in the shade but with the early morning sun angle gets direct light.

Thanks Kurt - this flower will turn a deep dark blue and depending on water/temperatures can shift all the way to purple. These blooms will last for several weeks.

Thanks - I like these early colors more than what the mature flowers change to as well. Probably because I will be seeing the mature colors right into mid August every time I open the side door of my garage. These colors will only last a week or two.

Thanks - yes and our soils in the NW are distinctly acidic. Some of the blooms will be close to purple before they are done.
