The seals seem rather aggressive about their interactions. Are the two you feature out in the surf sparring or playing? Seems more like the former.

Yes, there were multiple groups of two sparring. Evidently they do so to establish female rights and pecking order. That particular rookery has grown over the last couple of years. This year there were more than I've seen in the past. Hundreds of the seals on the beach.
