we skipped the highlands this trip, i didn't see any shipping containers as emergency shelters but they would make good shelters. we saw a couple of bright red shanties around the ring road. photos of those are coming later.I remember a lot of them being shipping containers with a big Red Cross on them. I think that was more in the Highlands, though.
they're not far from a glacier and i think they do get a good deal of snow in this part. the clouds in the sky move straight across from left to right in the 1st. i didn't like how they looked. initially i thought about replacing the sky with heavy clouds. instead i went back and reshot this with a better sky the day before we left. i haven't gotten to those photos yet.How interesting! The roof is the walls? Perhaps it gets a lot of snow in that area?
I like both angles of this unique building. #2 is my favorite, but I also like that straight on view in #1. Perhaps tease just a little more detail out of the clouds in that first one like in #2?
i'm sure it has considering how weathered it looked. i was tempted to look inside but i wasn't sure if there were any hikers inside.Nice - such a building shape can almost ignore the amount of snow that covers it. Looks like it has seen more than a few winters.
