Evening Cloudscape +Newer variant

I got to see an interesting sunset last night where most of the Good Stuff(TM) was almost directly overhead and behind me instead of in the west along the horizon. No way to easily capture the show in one frame so I decided to see if I could stitch a reasonable view out of 14 shots at 24mm. I had no way to capture more of the top of this cloud formation since the gimbal on my drone can't ratchet up any higher.

Edit: When I first started shooting the clouds behind/overhead I was focused on the more intricate lower portion of the clouds and not the ground or skies overhead. This is the first sequence I shot with 9 frames instead of 14. This is what that part of the scene looked like:

C&C always welcome.

Impressive stitching for such a dynamic scene of moving clouds. The subtle colors work well here.
Thanks Michael - this would have been easier to shoot from Scappoose with more distance between me and the cloud formation since it was almost overhead.

Hey Alan,

When you can't aim the gimbal any higher, here is the simple solution. Just fly the drone upside down and then turn the gimbal down.... :)

I couldn't resist.

That is one super cool cloud and good job stitching it.

Whoa <forehead slap> - pure genius Jim. Such a simple solution 🤣

This is one occasion where the best solution is to look for a smaller view.
