Farming the Full Moon

Just outside Greeley Colorado where my daughter lives the oldest granddaughter went out with me just before sunset to explore and find the sunset and we were surprised with the rising full moon. This is out in the farm area that is typical of much of Colorado where farms still surround all of the growing small towns.

Interesting moonrise.

An unusual foreground for a landscape photo of the moonrise. Not unusual as a sight along roads like the one you were on but unusual for what gets included in your shot. Not an assemblage I would expect for small acreage tilling.

Thanks Alan, yeah it's a bit different. But... I had to work with what I had. :)

Actually there are miles and miles of farmland, so I can see where they would use those tillers there.

Interesting shot Jim. It looks like you used a wide angle lens. I am wonder if you did this as a portrait mode and just framed the big tractor on the left with the moon in the upper right what that might look luke. That may make a stronger image but my guess you caught the moon as a surprise and did not expect to shoot it. The thing that bothers me the most is there is too much farm equipment and makes the foreground cluttered.

Hey Bob, thanks!

It's a different shot, so not sure how much more then "interesting" it would get. :)

I did shoot some vertical to get in tighter. This was shot at 82mm on a 70-300mm. The equipment was a couple of hundred yards away, across a field.

The clutter of the farm equipment is what drew me to this, but maybe it's too cluttered. It was a fun time to be out with my granddaughter shooting. There wasn't any preplanning, so all I could do was stop where there was some kind of ground layer interest. I will have to see if I can do a vertical before I head out in another day or two back towards California.

Hey Jim,
I completely understand. I probably would have shot it too. I wish I can be out with my grandson shooting but he lives in Chicago and the way things ate in Chicago I am not sure when I will get to see him again.
