Field Art

I like when people can see something interesting or even beautiful in something manmade that usually revokes a negative response -- like vehicle tracks. Nice job, Alan!

This could go either way Alan, but I think Abstract is a good choice. Are those bare fields just harvested? Or is there something growing there?

Just barely getting started. The hints of green in the scene are the new crop sprouting. All of the solid green fields are growing winter wheat which was sowed last fall and everything else is just now getting plowed and seeded. There are a lot of brown fields right now.

Nice Alan. Have you noticed that they farm the land the way it comes rather than flatten it. They also can grow crops there without irrigation.

Yes - I was studying their techniques the whole while I was there. Right now the fields are still wet in the bottom areas - so much so there are small drainage waterways at the base of the rolling hills and active water flows. They can't plow those areas yet at all. At the same time you get dust clouds at the tops of the hills while they are plowing. Quite the contrast. I was probably a month too early for wall to wall green.
