A few years ago, I took some aerial images of Shiprock. This is one that I did not process at that time.
I am not sure what I was thinking, Alan. Thanks for the kind comment.Sweet light on this formation - you must have had some amazing shots from this session to leave this one behind for processing.
Thanks so much, Jameel. I really appreciate your kind comment. This is a stunning image Doug.
Thank you, Jim.This is so cool Doug! Such beautiful light. It's too bad a drone can't get that high, because that's an awesome angle.
Thank you for the honor of Featured Post, Jim
About 500’ from where you launch it.Thank you, Jim.
Shiprock rises 1,583 feet above the desert floor. How high can drones fly?
400 feet above ground level is the legal limit.About 500’ from where you launch it.
Providing the Navajo tribe has no flight restrictions the definition for commercial drone flights is 400' above ground level below the drone. This means if you are flying 400' above the ground you are allowed to follow the contours of the ground as it rises as long as you are still within 400' of the ground. In this case you will be considerably closer to Shiprock than the view from this fixed wing aircraft window.Thank you, Jim.

Doug, this is some gorgeous lighting, I love the way you framed the Shiprock & the ridge, the contrast between warm & cold tones worked very well.A few years ago, I took some aerial images of Shiprock. This is one that I did not process at that time.
