Forest Trail Panorama

The trails at Silver Falls were an almost overwhelming chaos of colors this last week but as always finding workable comps takes some searching. This scene screamed for a panorama so I yanked out my TS-E for the occasion. Even on a cloudy day the dynamic range of the light for the forest scenes that include even a peek at the sky are problematic.

Thanks for the comments - it has taken me a long time to figure out how to spot and shoot workable comps in the tight spaces of the NW forests after growing up in more arid environments (Arizona and Utah) where the views are typically wide open. Close range panorama comps are opening my eyes to other types of possibilities in the woods.

Rich, beautiful colors, Al. Nicely done. I get somewhat similar scenes upstate NY, but not lucky enough to get that much beautiful moss.
