A small unassuming flower blooming along the trail leading to Wahclella Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. The shot was taken before the Eagle Creek Fire torched this small canyon down to bare rock.

Thanks Jim - I honestly don't know what Eagle Creek looks like these days. There should be quite a bit of ground cover at this point since ironically it wasn't really hit as hard as some of the nearby side canyons like McCord Creek (Elowah Falls) and Wahclella. Both of the latter two side canyons were scorched to bare rock and dirt.

Eagle Creek was never one of my priority stops in the Gorge simply because of the endless break-ins that happen in the parking area. The parking area is literally covered in broken car window glass shards. The parking area is really easy access and egress from the interstate but at the same time not visible from the freeway so unfortunately it's perfect for car prowls. I have never parked one of my own cars at that trailhead and it's not on my list of places I intend to visit on my own.

Thanks - its a pretty tiny bloom about the size of a dime but stood out like it was much larger.
