Grandaddy Juniper

I found this specimen of an old Juniper at a pullout on I70 in Utah. It had so much character I had to take a few shots!

This one has actual spoil around the base of it. A lot of the junipers in that neck of the woods are literally growing in cracks on the sandstone.

When I first spotted this tree, it felt like I was seeing an old friend greeting me with open arms!
