Half Domes Crown

There was some nice moody clouds in Yosemite a few week back, and I really liked how this ring of clouds was on the top of Half Dome but not covering the tip. So often if the top of Half Dome gets covered the distinctive tip is covered too.

Your familiarity with Yosemete shows up in images like this. Knowing when to be there, whats possible and then making it all come together like this. Good show.

Oh I like this! I remember you commenting on the clouds above half dome! I don't think I got a shot quite this tight.... very nice!

Thanks so much Ben. Being at the right place at the right time makes all of the difference in the world most times.

True, and its a bit of luck when it happens, but not as much luck as those who just show up and expect it to be good.

Certainly when it comes to weather, there is always a bit of luck involved. But I am reminded of the saying that goes something to the effect of Luck favoring those who are prepared. Hmmm.... that doesn't sound quite right, maybe someone else can actually remember the saying.
