Hawks in my backyard, Las Vegas

I am only posting these because Jim Fox asked me to . I was out on the patio today after work, talking to my husband on the phone. I saw these two birds and said to myself...self those are hawks. So while talking to him went out from under the patio cover to watch them and the one got so low I could almost reach out & touch it. I screamed in the phone "OMG babe there are two hawks circling the backyard & they are so low & beautiful" He was not impressed & said he would talk to me later. So as soon as he hung up I ran in, grabbed my camera & just started shooting....had no clue what settings were on, all the while screaming at my neighbors who were just out in their backyard to "look up, look up". Well of course my settings were totally F*$#@% up, as I had been on ISO 1250 for something else......can I say Dammmmmit on this site! Guess I can cuz what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas . Not sure if male & female or if one is juvie!

PS I really removed noise, it was terrible! And the last one is a really huge crop as that one was way up there!

Nice to have enough open sky to get these. My wife feeds a lot of different kinds of birds in our backyard which also ends up including occasional hawks dining on the other "customers" but there is almost no open space to get shots - esp/ like these.

I have an acre of land in the northwest part of the valley, thank God...and in my backyard there is always something happening. We had to cut our old Elm down this spring, and I miss the Kestrels coming to visit . But I have a great view of the Spring mountains & room so I love my backyard

This is a redtail hawk, can't say the sex. They get high really fast. Nice catch and thanks for posting.

Thanks Ben...I just don't want to post pics that are not good in here lOl. These guys circled for at least 5 minutes. It was just so amazing to watch. The highlight of my day today!
