Another unfortunate set of examples of the difference between intelligence and stupidity: There is a limit to intelligence......

Mother Nature isn't a theme park.
And another example of the dangers of social media. We seem to be getting dumber as a whole as a society.

Thanks for the warning Oliver.

On the subject of "social media", we share the same sentiment.

I am setting myself some "social media" free days every week, a lot of info just dumb & stupid.

Well, I can never understand people who hike in the extreme weathers, especially during the brutal heat waves.

Fatality at Canyonlands National Park

or

A third hiker has died in the Grand Canyon in less than a month

Seriously.

When I was in Vegas last week, the temperature was 119F, the heat was smothering as soon as I stepped out of the shuttle.

Be safe, folks.

We have had 2 recent deaths from walking in 100+. temps. One young man (Canary islands)taking a short cut back to his accommodation got lost in the mountains, no warer, no shade. The second, a doctor an tv presenter on health, died taking a short mid day hike. He was found 50yds from a cafe, this was in Greece. I am presently in Italy with temperatures hovering arround 100F, no clouds and the temperatures in the sun hit me. I am in Verona and have lots of cafes to stop for a cool drink but hiking in the nearby mountains is not going to happen. I realise that 100F may not be hot in world terms but it is too hot for me to do anything strenuous. Verona arena, tonights opera location. Image from this morning with temperatures in the mid 90s. Ken, no kidding. People do not understand what "heat stroke" can do to the human body, when the temperature reaches certain degrees, the brain, which is a huge blob og protein, starts to gel, this impairs the person's cognitive ability, many traggic deaths in the desert happened.

My heat tolerance bar is very low, anything over 85F, I am staying indoors.
