Historic Columbia Gorge Highway is open again

Oregon DOT opened up the section of the Historic Columbia Gorge Highway that has been closed since the Eagle Creek fire yesterday. This is from Bridal Veil Falls up to Ainsworth Park so all of the major waterfall areas are now accessible. :)

Not all of the trails are open yet but quite a few have been reopened.

My guess is that the road will look pretty much like a parking lot during this weekend but I will certainly be taking a look at things next week when folks are back at work.

Thanks for the report Alan. The big question is how bad is it and how long for it to regrow?

Thanks for the update.

Yeah, if I lived up there, I definitely would visit it during the week and not on the weekend.

It will be interesting to see the regrowth and where it's at. I actually think if a lot of the growth is burned away, it could make for some interesting and different looks with just the bare rocks. It could lead to some totally different looking views.
