Another lunar eclipse from yesterday morning. I was in Huntington Beach shooting up on the pier to get some elevation and to also be able fill the bottom of the frame with just water, and to be able to move horizontally in the composition to place waves (which I added later as I started to shoot wider) in the frame where I thought were more pleasing.
So as I was shooting I saw this seagull flying up into the frame and I started shooting. The DOF and shutter speed were not fast enough to totally freeze the seagull, but I think I like the softness of the bird to add some depth and motion.
Also, there were no clouds this morning, the coloring on the horizon is from the Belt of Venus. As the light of the sky got brighter it was amazing to see how much the coloring from the Belt of Venus was reflecting off the water as it was. It was cool seeing the moon still being partially eclipsed as it descended towards the horizon.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
