I Painted the Sunset

The other night at the local Nature area it had a decent sunset, but it was the post sunset that also looked nice. But by then it was getting darker, the shadows were getting deeper, but the clouds that stayed still had some color and there was some glow in the sky. The wind was blowing a bit, but I had already raised the ISO so the Shutter speed may not have been fast enough.

In the ground layer which is a meadow with lot's of dead grasses, those lost most of their shapes and took on a painterly feel to me. So I went with it. It wasn't on purpose, but I kind of liked the end result. This is one that might look cool on Canvas.

Looks like a nice sunset glow for my eyes at least at web resolution. A bit soft for the ground layer but that matches the skies.

A bit soft but works for this scene. You could have gone further with some intentional movement here.

Thanks Alan. Yes, the softness in the ground layer is the Painterly part.
