So I bemoaned earlier this week that I have not been able to image in 2 months. Well the skies cleared that night and I had a window to get a few hours on IC 1396/ Elephant nebula.

That's very nice John! Glad the skies were listening to you and decided to give you a clear night!

I like this of the Elephant Trunk. I have been contemplating capturing this again, but each time I have a chance I opt for something else, but I should go after this again as it's one of my favorite. You got some really sweet detail!

Thank you! I’d like to add more time to this but with so few clear nights I’ll also likely choose a different target.

Yeah, I totally get that. I have only had 1 night in the last month, so when i do get another night, I know it will be different targets then that last time.

John,

Nicely done - this thing is pretty faint and you have brought out all sorts of great details on it. The framing is excellent too, a wonderful image.
