IC 4685 Emission Nebula and B303 Dark Nebula

My take on the emission nebula IC 4685 (an often neglected neighbor of the mighty Lagoon and Trifid nebulae) and in particular the dark "snake" nebula designated Barnard 303. 303 does not generate light but absorbs the light of the hydrogen cloud in its surroundings. The dark nebula spreads its path into 7 light-years.
Shot in narrowband and using an SHO palette workflow involving color chrominance mask (CGY) manipulation in PixInsight and addition of the Ha as an additional luminance layer.
180s SHO @-10C About 6.7hrs integration time

How interesting. Dark Nebulas are something I have heard mentioned a few times, but I have very little knowledge of them. The Lagoon and Trifid nebulas are a favorite of mine, so I will need to do a bit more research into this one. I am betting though, this is where my just using a regular DSLR falls short.

Wow, that is a target I was not familiar with - super cool too. This instantly makes my future target list! Love the colors and detail. That system is killing it!
