This is Part 1 of a 2 part series on the Ice Castle up in Cripple Creek Colorado. I wasn't planning on splitting it up, but when I saw that the Daylight time was just as magical as the Night time, I decided to split it up. This is the Daylight when I first got there.

Please Subscribe! :)

It's kind of crazy, I have been stuck at the same place with Subscribers for 2 months now. My Subscriber count fluxuates between 741 and 743. I gain a couple, then I lose a couple, then I gain a couple more, then I lose a couple more. It's really weird. I would appreciate any help in sharing my channel to get my Subscribers back growing forward again.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

Interesting place. The video does a nice job providing the content to the image you posted. Looking forward to the night version

Very cool (pun intended). Will they send a rescue team if you get your tongue stuck 'cuz you tried licking the icicles? :)

I have never visited a place where they intentionally created an ice spectacle like this. There was an active wooden flume up Logan Canyon near the Utah State University campus when I was an undergraduate that would build up some wild icicles over the course of the winter but nothing with carved out caves and ice castles. A late 60's and early 70's stoney pastime was to dump food coloring on the icicles.

Ha ha, yeah, there was some kids getting very close to licking the icicles by drinking the water dripping off of them. That's not something I would do.

Food coloring would be cool. I have seen that there are some ice castles made out of blocks of ice during some winter festivals in the midwest, that's what I want to find next year. I am not sure where they are, but I have a bit of time to find them.
