In search of poppies then suddenly

At Bartlett reservoir this morning. Was walking on the beach when suddenly I hear an airplane. Oh la la... Two of them, very low. They past so fast didn't have time to adjust the Z9. Just put highest number of pictures possible... 45 pictures later, I have only one interesting. But the sound was deafening lol... Need practice. Who want to go to Luke AFB ?

Nice you were able to get a capture at all when those guys fly low like this.

Back in the 1960's I used to go dove hunting with some of my teenage friends in the agricultural areas south of Luke AFB. Lots of millet farming at that time so the doves would come in flights at feeding time. Goodyear airfield was an active Navy Air facility so between their jets and the ones flying in and out of Luke we would get buzzed frequently. At low altitude you don't really hear then until they are almost on top of you but once they are overhead the roar is deafening.
