Took a few shots at work this morning with a new camera. Not sure how well this will show, but wanted to try to see how it works.
Hi Jim, Thanks! I sold off all of my interchangeable lens gear and bought a Leica Q. I've decided to force myself to shoot with a single focal length (28mm) for a while and see what happensThis looks pretty nice Greg. The B&W processing looks great. The detail from the camera looks good too.
What camera did you get?
Hi Alan, the top two on the left are steam turbine controls for a Hydrogen gas compressor. The two top on the right are a couple views of an air cooler, the bottom left is a cable tray and bottom right are heater coil control valves used to balance flow. The B&W fits the mood of the machinery. What does all of this equipment do?
How interesting Greg! I am not sure I could do that, but I understand how it could be a cool exercise. So the Leica Q? Well Vieri will be glad to hear that since he is a Leica Ambassador and really loves the Leica line of camera.Hi Jim, Thanks! I sold off all of my interchangeable lens gear and bought a Leica Q. I was going to ask if this was from the Power Plant in Huntington Beach.Fabulous industrials. Do you work at a nuclear plant?
How interesting! After having spent a lifetime working as an Industrial Electrician and then as a Systems Engineer, I find industrial environments very interesting. Thanks guys. I work at a refinery in the Carson area....this unit uses very high pressure and temperature (the size of the pipe flanges is a clue) across a catalyst to remove sulphur and nitrogen from heavy gas oil, that is then further processed into gasoline and LPG products.
Me, too. I was a machinist and also a mechanical design engineer, tooling and manufacturing engineer, and a quality assurance specialist. And when I owned my business I had over a dozen jobs, all at once. How interesting! Hi Vieri, thanks for the kind words. I'm absolutely loving the Q! The way the Summilux Lens resolves detail and color is truly beyond anything I've used in the past, although my experience is limited to Nikon, Canon and Fuji, and to top of the great lens, they they threw in a free camera to boot!Hi Greg, welcome into the Leica family! How are you enjoying the Q so far?
Camera aside, great work, thank you for sharing! While I primarily do Landscape I am a fan of industrial photography and love to try my hand at it when I get the chance!
Best regards,
Vieri
