Into the Unknown

From Zion Narrows a few years back. This is one of the few where I actually include some people, I liked how the hikers were crossing the Narrows here and it looked like they were headed into the unknown with that darkness of the shadows.

Usually this kind of extreme dynamic range is undesirable but it actually works in this context with the visible hikers.

Love the heavy contrast and the people hiking into 'darkness'. Creates a sense of mystery!

Great shot, typical of old slide work where we exposed for the highlights and let the shadows go black.
