Its Good to Have Some Patience

I spotted some interesting looking clouds from my deck last night so I launched my drone with high hopes for a nice sunset. My first view of the skies from above wasn't particularly promising with a big gray cloud covering the sun as it headed for the horizon.

Happily I was patient and was looking around for other things to shoot as the sun dropped down and as it turned out there was clear skies off to the west of the clouds I could see. At first I just got a dim glow just at the bottom of the cloud and as I started shooting more and more light came up from under the clouds until I started getting some serious colors in the skies. This is when I realized I was in for a really nice treat for evening colors. 3 panels at 28mm.

More to come when I process the shots that came after this one.

C&C always welcome.

That is nice Alan! Glad to see that color show up. There was a lot of clouds on the horizon, so I could see the sunset also getting snuffed out, so that's great the color came out.

Thanks Jim - I was almost about the yanks the level to bring my drone down when I first spotted a glow below the clouds at the horizon so decided to hang out. Good thing I did as the colors lasted for another 10 minutes after I shot this and 1/2 hour after the first image. Happily the Mavic 4 Pro has batteries that let me stay up for close to 40 minutes :)
