It's Not Easy

To make a straight road. :)

It's not always easy to make a straight road. With all of the rock structures and unlevel land, the road most often feels like it's always curving one way or another.

This is from Arches National Park on Tuesday about 1:30pm as I had a 1pm reservation to enter. I was excited about the clouds, it even sleeted a few hours later. I captured this just before Park Avenue. If you are familiar you wind your way up on a very curvy road. I was seeing the cool clouds, and as soon I got around and saw the Park Avenue area I saw a pull out, and I pulled over and stopped as I knew I wanted this road, with those rocks and with those clouds.

I see a curve at the end of this straight stretch - either that or an invisible tunnel as it reaches those cliffs 😁

Neat contrasts with the red rocks and the clouds. Much more interesting than a cloudless day.

It's actually the point where the aliens practice their Tractor Beams and zap people up before they crash into the rocks. :)

Thanks Alan!
