Lake Matheson

I just returned from two weeks in New Zealand and Australia. This wasn't really a photo trip, but was instead a vacation with my wife. Fortunately she was kind and patient enough to accompany me for at least a few serious landscape attempts so I do have a few things to share.

This was taken at sunset at Lake Matheson, known for its beautiful reflections of Mount Cook/Aoraki and Mount Tasman. It is a pretty cool hike around the lake and this small platform definitely becomes jam packed with tripods starting about an hour before sunset.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Excellent shot. Now you have to do a little travel post to tell us where you went and what you thought. I'm heading down for a similar trip in a couple years, but will stay much longer.

I will definitely write a travel post - I just need to get some editing done first. I both want to share what I picked up and remember what I did! The first lesson is that there are no easy drives in New Zealand. All roads are narrow, windy, two lanes, and of course you're driving on the wrong side.
