Lighting it up at Red Rock

This was a few years back in Red Rock out by Las Vegas where Ryan, Darcy and Teresa hang out. When my daughter lived there I would run over to Red Rock on occasion, especially when storms were coming through. I think I shot about 200 or so frames and got 5 or 6 with lightning. I just used the Remote Release and locked it in for continuous shooting.

Nice - that's a neat scene with the Joshua tree and Red Rock in the background.

I used to try to shoot lightning back in my film days but that was pretty expensive and I just ended up getting frustrated.

I love the way that butte connects to the cloud via the lightning bolts. Like they were all connected.

Love the way the clouds funnel in to the lightning, Jim. A really nice scene with the tree and other vegetation giving a contrast to the drama of the sky and lightning over the mountains. Nicely done.

Beautiful monsoon image, Jim. You need to get a Lightning Bug and your success rate will go up dramatically.
