Lightning Does Strike Twice!

This is from last year in Colorado, not far from my daughters house in Greeley Colorado. Fortunately Greeley is surrounded by farm fields like so much of Colorado. Lightning does strike twice! Well, not exactly, but I hope you get what I mean. :)

I pulled this one out of the archives accidently as I was mindlessly scrolling through a few sub directories. And I decided to do this as a small break from a bunch of moon images I will be doing.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

OMG...Absolutely a fantastic image Jim! It has all the elements to make a perfect shot, from the gorgeous green fields, to the sheets of rain down in the lower left, amazing clouds, and those lightning strikes.... well WOW. And the color palette is beautiful. 👏👏👏🌩💯

Thank you so much Amy for those kind words! For years I could only look with wonder towards other peoples Lightning shots. We basically have no lightning in SoCal, and when we do it's all hidden cloud to cloud lightning. So spending so much more time in Colorado has given me the chance to finally capture Lightning! It really brings me joy to see the lightning start and to be able to capture it.

I like this shot Jim. Really nice color in the clouds makes it very dramatic.

This is a real knockout Jim. One of the finest lightning scenes I've seen. Both the lightning itself and the perfect blend of light and darkness -- the full capacity of the sensor, I'd say. I've never seen anything like it.

This is an exceptional shot Jim. The foreground colours moving into the dark sky really set off the lighting to my eye.

Fabulous Jim. I would be thrilled to capture lightning like that. Never have. Great processing, too.
