M101 supernova

What I should have been doing was tweaking my OAG prism and identifying where my sensor tilt is. What I actually did was jump on the m101 band wagon instead . She’s a tough one to capture alright but I couldn’t miss this chance to shoot it with the current supernova.

Thanks for pointing it out too so that all of out non-Astrophotographers will know what we are talking about.

I totally get the Supernova bandwagon. I wasn't on it, but then I was... I captured it the other day but haven't been able to process out. I hope mine turns out as good as yours did.

And I totally get you ignoring prism adjustments and sensor tilting to capture this baby!

I do have to sort it out at some point. It makes my stars almost unusable which is a shame. Still, the scope has already surpassed my expectations. I bought it for a couple of hundred as it was filthy and covered in fungus. I took it apart, cleaned it and put it back as accurately as possible but until now I never knew if I’d done irreparable damage. Fortunately not (assuming it is sensor tilt and not some weird mirror issue). We’ll soon see.

Great job, very exciting to capture this SN for sure. I also got drawn in on this, hope to post a version soon. Hopefully I got something that is comparable to your fine example shown here!
