M33 - The Triangulum

I finally had a clear night last night, though seeing wasn't the greatest.

I decided to image the Triangulum Galaxy. I had only imaged this once before when I was first starting out. It turned out MUCH better than my last attempt.

This is an LRGB +Ha image

Lum= 80, 60 second images at Bin 1x1
Red= 80, 60 second images at Bin 2x2
Green= 80, 60 second images at Bin 2x2
Blue= 80, 60 second images at Bin 2x2
H-Alpha= 20, 180 second images at Bin 2x2

M33 is roughly 3,000,000 light years from Earth. It has huge regions of Ionized Hydrogen clouds that are star factories. They show up as the red area on this image. The Hydrogen regions are so large, some of the largest known, that they are easily visible from earth, which is very rare.

Great image - really fun when you can come back later and re-image a target and see the improvement. You did get great color accentuating the H-a star forming regions - really makes the image pop.
