This is super nice Bob! That's an awesome view with only 30 minutes of time. I would suggest you go to 20 or 30 second subs so as to get more of the subtle detail then the 10 second subs will get.

When I looked at the S30 Pro, there were like 5 or 6 objects that I thought it would be totally perfect for, and M45 was one of them. While Mosaics are great, it's really nice when objects can be captured in a single frame.

Hey, thanks Jim. The only reason I'm doing 10 second subs is that I'm using Alt/Az mode. I'm shooting from a balcony that doesn't have good access for equatorial mode. I'm collecting more data tonight as we speak. We'll see if that improves the image.

If you can run it in Alt/Az you can run it in EQ mode.

And I used to run mine S50 at 20 and 30 sec subs all of the time in Alt/Az, and the the S30 Pro would be way more forgiving then the S30. So I would recommend you increasing it to 20 secs at least. But also get it into EQ mode, you literally can set it up anyway, it has All Sky PA. All you have to do is Aim it north, then when the PA happens just have it aim to an open part of the sky.

Bob,

That's a sweet result for the effort and time put in. Looks like the S30 Pro is a winner for you.
